ReEnergize Program

This year’s Green Home Tour is proud to feature the reEnergize Program,  a collaborative effort between the cities of Omaha and Lincoln to build energy-smart communities.  The program will work with highly-qualified contractors to make energy upgrades on 3,193 residences and energy evaluations on a total of 263 commercial and non-profit buildings.

Funded by a three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Energy’s BetterBuildings Program, the reEnergize Program aims to allow owners of all building types access to a streamlined process, financing opportunities, and a qualified workforce for energy-efficient services.  Through these efforts, the program will serve as a catalyst, building consumer demand and contractor supply for energy-saving building improvements and reducing energy use in local buildings.

Kristi Wamstad-Evans, The City of Omaha’s Sustainability Coordinator, will present the program during the Green Home Tour Speaker Series, and will provide additional information during three program orientations presented at The Harper Center at 10am, 11am and 12 pm.  Please stop by during the tour to learn more!
